[Pachy-Dev] Opening the development list and code base to the public

Hello everyone,

As we move closer and closer to a full open source release, we will
need to open up all lines of communication to potential new
contributors. One of the things that we will need to do is open up
the pachy dev list to the public. I wanted to let everyone know this
is my intention before I make any announcements, but my intention is
to do this soon. The more we work out in the open, the more likely we
are to have contributors join us on the team.

This also means that we will need to provide access to the code base
soon as well. This is a good time for anyone and everyone to take a
look at the code you've got in subversion and make sure you've got
any and all changes in you want, and if you have time to go over
documentation as well, that would be great. Mind you, the code
doesn't need to be perfect (or even close) -- we fully expect the
code to be buggy and imperfect. It's software after all, and if it
were perfect, there'd be no need for an open source project :).

I know it can be hard for some to put their code out in the public
for scrutiny, but in the long run this will make the code better,
make us all better developers, and will advance all of our skill sets
and careers. That being said, if there is anything about this that
makes you feel uncomfortable, PLEASE speak up now so we can discuss
it. I will wait approximately a week or so before I put a link up to
the dev mailing list and subversion repository (just for reads only
-- submission rights is a whole new subject!)

Thanks everyone,

Joshua
